Taipei Game Show 2017 Rounded Off with 430K Public Visits
High Popularity for Mobile Games and Console Game LIVE Tournaments
Taipei Game Show 2017 “B2C Area” is held from January 20th to 24th at Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1. The show is divided into three parts in “Latest Virtual Reality Gaming Experience”, “Worldwide Cross-Platform IPs” and “Made-in-Taiwan (MIT) Games.” After 5-day activities, the show rounded off with 430,000 public visits.
Latest Console Game IPs offer Best Gaming Experience
The release of new console games brings the gaming scale to a higher level. This time, Sony Interactive Entertainment Taiwan Limited provides over 100 PS4 and PS VR for players to trial the games. The new launch games include “Horizon Zero Dawn,” “NIOH” and “Gran Turismo Sport,” and will be released in this spring. Taking up the largest booth space in the show, the second-attending Ubisoft is back to TGS 2017 with “For Honor.” The game trial tutorials and tournaments hosting make Ubisoft one of the most crowded booth in the show. Further, the much anticipated “Summer Lesson” Traditional Chinese version and “Ace Combat 7” are both available at the booth of Bandai Namco Entertainment Taiwan Ltd. Japanese company SEGA Games showcases the popular “Persona 5” Traditional Chinese version as its highlight, along with new releases of “Valkyria Revolution”, “PuyoPuyo”, “CHAOS;CHILD” and other more.
Mobile Games Draw Huge Attention, New IPs Launch at the Show
Mobile games once again take over large proportion at Taipei Game Show 2017. Both local and oversea game publishers attend the show with their famous and new launch games, like “Monster Strike” (mixi), “TAICHI PANDA” (Butterfly Digital Entertainment), “King of Avalon” (FunPlus), “Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links” (KONAMI). The spectacular lineups and stage activities create excitement in the crowd. In particular, Google Play this year bring numerous games to the show, some of which are yet to be released on Google Play platform, allowing players to trial numerous latest games, including “Tango” AR game and “Daydream”.

As the virtual reality continues to grow in 2017, Acer expands its booth scale with plenty of HTC Vive VR games for players to enjoy. International Games System Co., Ltd. showcases it VR racing game “OverTake” for the first time in the public. VR games can also be seen in the second edition of “INDIE HOUSE.” The scale of “INDIE HOUSE” reaches to 52 indie game teams from 14 countries. VR games includes “BattleSky VR” from Oh!WHATif (Taiwan), the physical shooting game “Shadow Shooter” from CENOTE (Japan), the action puzzle game “CRANGA!: Harbor Frenzy” from HandMade Game (Korea), the action game “VR M” from FIGHT4DREAM (Hong Kong) and more.
Online LIVE Streaming on the Hit, Famous Streamers Hosting Tournaments
As live streaming economics is on-trend, TGS partners with Twitch for its official live streaming channel. Taiwanese famous live streamers are invited to host TGS LIVE to interact with online and on-site audience. For instance, the social media app “Huboo” invite live streamer Dinter to compete with fans. The MMORPG “Black Desert” has MiSTakE to host the live streaming show. The “For Honor” from Ubisoft invites streamers to host tournaments at its booth. Moreover, “Monster Strike” has several famous Youtuber to team up and play games with players.

Though Taiwan is a small island with 23 million populations, its geographic location makes Taiwan as a game market with high acceptance to local and foreign games.
